The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing forest landowners, pulp, paper, paperboard, and wood products manufacturers. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To manage the collection, processing, data quality audit, analysis and publishing of statistical data, information and reports. To complete ad hoc statistical research requests from AF&PA members and other programs. To facilitate communications with members on issues of importance to their product sector. To use software applications and other tools to solve problems, add value, and innovate. To work on teams with other staff members to ensure the timely delivery of excellent work product.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Implement data quality procedures for the collection and auditing of data. Analyze data for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and publish regular reports for members. Respond to questions from members about published data. Complete ad hoc research of data and information. Participate in the continuous improvement of software and procedures for data quality and system productivity. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, and an interest in implementing new and better processes.
MINIMUM EXPECTATIONS:
Candidate has self-initiative to learn the position, can balance multiple priorities and accept responsibility for their successful completion.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Is comfortable working with data and computer information systems software, and has the ability to communicate with many different personalities. Candidate has experience organizing projects and/or producing multiple reports with short deadlines. Familiarity with Business Objects or other report writer tool is preferred. Familiarity with databases, SQL, and programming logic is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Four-year degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Information Technology or position-related field; knowledge of Pulp and Paper a plus. Minimum three years of job experience with responsibilities pertaining to the functions of this position.
