This week, CEOs of AF&PA’s member companies will be walking the halls of Congress as part of our biennial fly-in. This year’s fly-in theme is Past, Present, PAPER – signifying the constant presence of paper products in our lives, even while they are ever evolving to meet our needs.

Our members will be educating Congress on the pulp, paper, packaging and wood products manufacturers’ positions on air regulations, carbon neutrality of biomass, paper options and transportation. You can find more details on each issue here.

As part of the AF&PA Fly-in, we will also host a reception to kick-off the Paper and Packaging Caucus, whose purpose is to inform members of Congress about the value of the paper and packaging industry in their states and districts. This bipartisan and bicameral caucus will highlight the importance and economic significance of the paper and packaging industry and will focus on the policy solutions needed to sustain and promote this important sector.

Whether or not you are able to join us in Washington this week, there are several ways to participate in this year’s fly-in:

  • Check out our ads on The Hill, a Beltway news publication.
  • Use our hashtag, #PastPresentPAPER, on Facebook and Twitter to show your support or share photos from your meetings.

We’re looking forward to a successful AF&PA Fly-in showcasing #PastPresentPAPER!
