WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) was honored last night with the 2014 Association Real Estate Award for large trade associations at a reception hosted by ASAE and Savills Studley. AF&PA’s President and Chief Executive Officer Donna Harman and Chief Financial Officer Sam Kerns accepted the award on behalf of the association.
The award was given based on how well the overall design facilitates member engagement and represents AF&PA members and their products.
“A lot of work went into creating a space that reflects the collaboration that takes places between our members, staff, and other stakeholders to accomplish our mission, and we are proud that others in Washington, DC are taking notice,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman. “Thanks to our amazing team – internal staff, consultants, and contractors – all of our members’ products are represented throughout the office making it obvious to everyone who we represent.”
AF&PA moved to 1101 K Street NW in November 2013 after being 1111 19th Street NW for over 20 years. The new location is in an up-and-coming neighborhood, much closer to Capitol Hill. The association was also awarded three Green Globes® for its extensive use of daylighting, energy-efficient lighting and mechanical systems, low-emitting paints, coatings, adhesives and flooring, and the incorporation of wood and paper design elements.
