WASHINGTON –The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) board of directors today at their meeting presented Dr. Ron Yeske, former president of the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI), with the Forest & Paper Industry Distinguished Service Award, honoring his lifetime service to the paper and wood products industry. Dr. Yeske devoted 20 years of his career to leading NCASI in becoming a highly respected voice on the scientific and technical challenges facing the industry.
“Through Dr. Yeske’s leadership, NCASI has significantly advanced the state of the science on key environment, forest, and sustainability issues facing our industry,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman. “NCASI’s numerous reports and publications have contributed to its well deserved reputation as an independent, group of researchers respected by government, non-government and industry organizations alike.”
The Forest & Paper Industry Distinguished Service Award was created in 1999 to recognize the efforts of individuals who perform outstanding service to the American forest products industry. The award has been presented only once before today.
