WASHINGTON – American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statement about the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s BioPreferred program final rules.
“We’re proud of our industry’s innovative products and processes and are pleased that USDA has formally recognized them in the final BioPreferred program guidelines.
“Manufacturers are developing new and exciting products all the time to meet consumers’ changing needs. Our industry’s innovative products have extended the shelf life of food; reduced waste; improved the quality of papers made with recycled content; and significantly reduced energy and water usage.”
