WASHINGTON - The American Forest & Paper Association released its April 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report on May 17, featuring audited 2015 and Q1 2016 data based on results from the 56th AF&PA Capacity Survey released May 10.
Containerboard production was 2.6 percent lower compared to April 2015. The month-over-month average daily production compared to March 2016 was 1.9 percent higher. The containerboard operating rate for April increased from 93 percent to 94.3 percent and the year-to-date operating rate of 94 percent was 1.6 percentage points lower compared to the same period in 2015.
