AF&PA Releases August 2026 Printing-Writing Monthly Report
WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the August 2026 Printing-Writing Monthly report.
According to the report, total printing‑writing paper shipments decreased 7% in August compared to August 2025. Total printing‑writing paper inventory levels increased 1% when compared to July 2026. Using the latest available trade data from the U.S. Census Bureau, total purchases of printing‑writing papers in July showed a small increase compared to the same month last year.
Across the 3 major printing-writing categories–uncoated free sheet (UFS), coated free sheet (CFS), and mechanical (MECH)–net imports increased 26% in July compared to the same month last year. Individually, UFS increased 38%, CFS increased 51% while MECH net imports increased 13%.
