We are a sustainable industry
Safety and sustainability are the foundation of our industry.
Our members are dedicated to responsible manufacturing with renewable and recyclable resources.
Members are committed to sustainable forestry. The U.S. grows about twice as much wood as is harvested. Sourcing fiber from sustainable forests helps ensure America’s forests are continuously replanted and preserved for future generations.
Further, paper and wood products are sustainable materials made from renewable resources. Renewable bioenergy powers U.S. paper mills. We are committed to ensuring our products continue to be produced in the most sustainable way to meet evolving customer needs.
Additionally, we encourage members to take part in AF&PA’s voluntary program to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.

Diverse and inclusive teams have a positive impact on our products and services. We support building a culture that values these differences.
Equity and inclusion foster innovation. We strive to be inclusive across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience.
We are always growing and working to build awareness and be the change we want to see in the world. We are committed to improving tomorrow’s environment today. That starts with our people.
