American Forest & Paper Association Releases October 2020 Packaging Papers Monthly Report

WASHINGTON — The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its October 2020 Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in October increased four percent compared to October 2019. They were up four percent when compared to the same 10 months of 2019.

  • The operating rate was 86.1 percent, down 2.5 points from October 2019 and essentially flat (-0.4 pts.) year-to-date.
  • Mill inventories at the end of October remained essentially flat (-765 short tons) from the previous month, and were up 17,000 short tons compared to October 2019.
