Are Post-it Notes Recyclable?

Yes, post-it notes are recyclable by paper mills! They can go right into your curbside recycling bin. U.S. paper mills want paper products like post-it notes back so they can turn them into new products.

Always be sure to check your local community’s recycling guidelines to ensure they are accepted.

Is the Adhesive a Problem for Recycling? 

Nope! The adhesive on post-it notes is not a problem for the recycling process. It will come off in the repulping process.

How Do You Recycle Post-it Notes? 

It’s best to attach them to printer paper, mail, magazines, or other larger paper items and place them in your recycling bin. There is no need to remove the post-it notes from whatever paper item they are being used on. This ensures they don’t get lost in the sorting process.

There’s no need to remove the adhesive portion of the post-it note.
