Total Boxboard production in Q2 increased by 2% compared to Q2 2025. The boxboard operating rate was 88.8%, down 0.6 points from the same quarter last year.

According to the report, the total industry operating rate increased to nearly 95% for the quarter compared to 93% for the preceding quarter. 

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in June increased 2% compared to June 2025. 

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in May increased 12% compared to May 2025. They were up 6% when compared to the same 5 months of 2025.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in April increased 5.5% compared to April 2025. They were up 4.8% when compared to the same 4 months of 2025.

Total Boxboard production in Q1 decreased 2% compared to Q1 2025. The boxboard operating rate was 85.7%, down 1.5 points from the same quarter last year.

According to the report, total Containerboard production in Q1 2026 decreased 8% compared to the same quarter in 2025 in line with similar reductions in capacity. Operating rates remained essentially flat (-0.1 points) over the same period.
