According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 22% in May compared to May 2022.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in May decreased 5% compared to May 2022. They were down 4% when compared to the same 5 months of 2022.

AF&PA released the 63rd Paper Industry Capacity and Fiber Consumption Survey. Overall, U.S. paper and paperboard capacity declined slightly by 0.4% in 2022.

Total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 25% in April compared to April 2022. U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers decreased 21% in April compared to the same month last year. Total printing-writing paper inventory levels decreased 1% when compared to March 2023.

Total Boxboard production in Q1 decreased 5% compared to Q1 2022. The boxboard operating rate was 87.8%, down 6.1 points from Q1.

Total Containerboard production in the first quarter of 2023 decreased 10% when compared to Q1 2022.

Total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 15% in February compared to February 2022. U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers decreased 6% in February compared to the same month last year.

Total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 9% in January compared to January 2022. U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers increased 3% in January compared to the same month last year.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in January decreased 7% compared to January 2022.

Total Boxboard production in Q4 decreased 3% compared to Q4 2021, but 2022 production was up 1% when compared to the same 12 months of 2021.

AF&PA released its Q4 2022 Containerboard Quarterly report.  Total Containerboard production decreased 5% when compared to the full year of 2021.

Total total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 9% in December compared to December 2021 while U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers increased 4% in December compared to the same month last year.
